- 5 hot peppers crushed or 11/2 tablespoon chilli powder
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil
- One medium size onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed ginger
- 1 medium size lemon
- Salt to taste
- 2 tomatoes blended
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- In a clean cooking pot, heat the oil.
- Add the onions, cook until they turn golden brown. Add the crushed garlic and ginger paste cook for a few seconds, don't let it burn.
- Add the blended tomatoes, let it cook for 2 minutes. Add the tomato paste and 1/4 cup water. Let cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the hot peppers or chilli powder. (NB. Ensure all the windows are open to let in air when using chilli. Kids SHOULD NOT be in the room due to choking) Add salt to taste and let it cook, do not be in a hurry.
- Once the liquid has reduced and you are left with a thick paste add the lemon juice and stir. Cook for another 3 minutes taste and adjust the seasoning if need be.
Can be served with any food.
